About you
First, two ages.
Compound works out the year work could become optional on the path you’re on — then shows you the changes that bring it closer, and tracks the year as it moves. A few questions build your model.
About you
Who’s in your household, and what do you earn?
However you earn it: salary or wages, self-employed income, or what your business pays you. It sets your living costs, what’s left to build wealth, and employer super where it applies.
About you
What does the roof over your head cost each month?
Rent, or the repayments on the home you live in. It’s usually the biggest line.
The repayment, not the balance.
HECS, car loan, personal loan. Leave out the loan on an investment property; that’s counted with the property on the next screens.
About you
Roughly how much super do you have?
A rough figure is fine, you can tighten it any time. Couples: your combined balance works here.
What you own
Do you own any investment properties?
Not the home you live in — that’s added in the app, for your equity and net worth. Just the properties you rent out or hold to sell. Each grows at its state’s long-run rate.
What you own
Shares, ETFs or crypto?
Roughly what each is worth all up. In the app you can add the codes and prices stay current on their own.
Leave anything at zero if it doesn’t apply.
What you own
Cash and savings?
All accounts, roughly. It funds the years between stopping work and your super unlocking.
Offset cash is modelled at 0% growth. Its return is the mortgage interest it cancels, and counting both would double it.
What you own
Do you own a business?
Your share of what it’s worth, roughly. It can be valued properly against its industry inside the app.
Building your model
Your model
It’s built.
Create your account to save it and see your year — the one that comes out of everything you just entered, yours to keep.
“Compound allows me track bank accounts, shares and property all in the one app. I can view the year I become financially independent but also use their calculators and budgeting tools to run scenarios and watch how that freedom year is impacted. One of my favourite features is that my wifes account and my account can be linked so our financial goals are visualised and aligned.”
Creating an account is free, and your year is free with it. Pro — the scenarios that move that year, the plan you build from them, and live tracking every month — is yours for 7 days free, cancel anytime. Then A$99 a year or A$9.99 a month, and nothing is charged before day 8.
A note from me: the public price of Pro is A$149 a year. Because you’re one of the first people using Compound, your rate is A$99 a year or A$9.99 a month, locked in for as long as you stay. It’s my thank you for being early and helping get this off the ground. — Mitch, founder
